Imoved into this live/work studio in August of 1986. It is inside a converted warehouse in industrial west Oakland, CA. The bathroom was provided but I refinished the floors and designed and installed the interior. No, it doesn't usually look this tidy.



Prior to this I lived in a beautiful home with decks and views, beamed ceilings and built in everything. It was on the edge of a nature preserve, with lots of raccoons and deer. Moving here was quite a change but I needed the space to work. This loft has wonderful light from two huge sky lights and lots of wall space for both painting and displaying my work. I've enjoyed living here, but I'm ready to move back into a regular house again. The building is currently in the middle of a project replacing a freeway that collapsed in the 1989 earthquake. I've been invaded by dust, noise, ~~PILE DRIVING ~~ ! I also miss having windows to look at trees and watch the changing color of the light throughout the day.

Oh, yeah, my two best friends (of the furry kind, anyway), Mr. Scratch and Mr. Sniff, say "Hi!"
